“Vesak Celebration at the Sri Lanka Deputy High Commission, Chennai”

The Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Chennai hosted a Vesak (Buddha Poornima) celebration at the Chancery premises on 31 st May 2026. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Venerable Maththamagoda Rahula Thero of the Chennai Maha Bodhi Society, who led a Bodhi Pooja and Buddhist preaching at the Vesak celebrations. The event was attended by the members of the Mission staff and their families, as well as representatives from the Bank of Ceylon, SriLankan Airlines, and MAS Holdings. The Deputy High Commission expresses its sincere appreciation to Venerable Maththamagoda Rahula Thero for his spiritual guidance and to all participants for their presence and support in making the Vesak celebration a memorable and successful event.
