Road Show on Indo-Sri Lanka Business opportunities for the visiting business delegation of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) to Sri Lanka

The Deputy High Commission of Sri Lanka organized a Road Show on Indo-Sri Lanka Business opportunities for the visiting business delegation of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) at the Chancery premises on 10th June 2026.  This significant event aimed to foster closer economic ties and enhance bilateral trade between Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka. A total of 65 members from diverse business sectors participated in the event. The Deputy High Commission organized this promotional initiative to offer participants valuable insights into Sri Lanka’s emerging business environment, highlighting investment potential, priority sectors, and opportunities for economic cooperation between the two nations. The event commenced with engaging promotional videos on Sri Lanka Tourism and Sri Lanka exports, giving the delegation a comprehensive overview of the business landscape in Sri Lanka. This was followed by a special address from the Deputy High Commissioner, Dr. Ganesanatha Geathiwaran, who underscored the significance of this initiative in promoting trade, investment, and tourism between India and Sri Lanka. Attendees were also presented with a detailed PowerPoint presentation titled “Business Opportunities Between India and Sri Lanka,” delivered by Mr. G. L. Gnanatheva, Minister( Commerce) of the Deputy High Commission. A special mention was made for the upcoming Sri Lanka Expo 2027, scheduled for January 2027, aims to further showcase investment avenues and trade potentials. Following the presentations, a question and answer session enabled participants to inquire about specific trade and investment opportunities available to them.  The Road Show provided a vital platform for Indian business leaders to explore various sectors for potential investments in Sri Lanka, including infrastructure, automobiles, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, food processing, agro-processing, textiles, machinery, information technology, and tourism. The event marks a significant step toward enhancing bilateral trade relations and encouraging Indian investments in Sri Lanka. The event included a high-tea session, fostering an atmosphere conducive to networking and business relationship building.
