Sri Lanka Tourism organized a Promotional Road Show in Southern India

Sri Lanka Tourism in coordination with the Sri Lanka Deputy High Commission in Chennai organized a Tourism Road Show in Southern India. The event commenced in Chennai, Tamil Nadu today (24 April) with the participation of Hon.Harin Fernando, Minister of Tourism and  Sri Lanka Tourism Brand Ambassador, Cricket legend Sanath Jayasuriya. The event was attended by a number of travel agencies from Sri Lanka and India, representatives from Srilankan Airlines as well as many other distinguished guests. The promotional Road Show will proceed to Cochin and Bangalore on the 26th and 28th of April respectively.

Sri Lanka Deputy High Commission in Chennai hosted ‘Iftar’

The Deputy High Commission of Sri Lanka in Chennai organized an ‘Iftar’ function on 21st April 2023 at the Chancery premises. The event commenced with the breaking fast followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and a sermon by Moulana K. M. Ilyas Riyaji, Chief Imam of Eidgha Masjid, Mandaveli, Chennai. Mr. Gingee K. S. Masthan, Hon. Minister for Minorities Welfare, Non-Resident Tamils Welfare, Refugees & Evacuees and Wakf Board of the State Government of Tamil Nadu participated as the Chief Guest of the event. Many other distinguished guests and well- wishers of Sri Lanka as well as the staff of the Mission also attended the ‘Iftar’ Dr. D. Venkateshwaran, Deputy High Commissioner while thanking the guests  highlighted the importance of respecting the values of all religions and ethni cities
